The University Campus of Tocantins / Cametá (CUNTINS / UFPA), through the Education and Culture Graduate Program (PPGEDUC) and its 10 Faculties, pioneered the initiative to articulate actions of international academic cooperation in order to qualify still more undergraduate and postgraduate education, strengthen groups and research projects, dialogue with the extension and ultimately consolidate the Campus in the context of the celebrations of its 30 years of existence and 60 years of creation of UFPA.

The internationalization of the Campus takes place in a process of strong articulation with the Basic Education Graduate Program (PPEB) linked to the recently created Center for Transdisciplinary Studies in Basic Education (NEB), Casa Brasil-África (CBA) and network with the University of International Integration of Afro-Brazilian Lusophony (UNILAB) and the University of Cape Verde (Uni-CV). The decisive support of PROPESP and the Vice Chancellor of UFPA deserve special mention, with actions also from the Coordination of University campus of Tocantins - Cametá.

The commitment to strengthening the internalization of the stricto-sensu postgraduate course, which contributes decisively to the loco-regional development in the Amazon, is one of the mottos for the actions recently triggered in the Campus, from two main vectors: the approval of the Project "Amílcar Cabral and Paulo Freire's thoughts: work, culture and education in focus" in the Interinstitutional Cooperation Support Program (PACI), according to specifications of Proposed Proposals 07/2017 - Propesp / Prointer; , The articulation of the PPEB from institutional mission to Cape Verde in Africa.

The partnership of UFPA with the University of Cape Verde (Uni-CV) has been growing since 2009, resulting in the provision of strito-sensu postgraduate courses and joint book publications.
